SWAT Events

Every August, SWAT provides an opportunity for woodturners to get together in person to meet old friends and to make new ones. Attendees can expand their knowledge of woodturning by watching world class demonstrators and share experiences and ideas with fellow woodturners. This year, there will be 8 rooms running demonstrations concurrently. They will start on Friday morning and run through noon on Sunday. We have 72 total demonstrations by 29 artists that are offered during this 2 1/2 day symposium. In addition to woodturning, there are “Activities for Spouses” that offer fun classes for the “plus 1” attending with the turner.

The vendor area provides an opportunity to see and purchase the latest tools and products. In addition, there is always a large selection of wood and accessories for purchase.

The Instant Gallery allows attendees to view and purchase some of the best woodturning art from both local and world renowned artists. The Gallery, as well as the vendor area, is open for public viewing whether you are a paid attendee or are just passing through.

Everyone who has attended SWAT previously tells other folks that it was like “a meeting of old friends.” Certainly, the effort to attend SWAT appears to be well worth it. Most people return year after year.
